N C Power Systems awarded MaK parts, service and sales for US West Coast
N C Power Systems was recently named the exclusive MaK Marine engine parts, service and sales provider for the US west coast. N C Power Systems has entered a formal agreement with Finning U.K., our technical partner, and Caterpillar to represent and support the impressive MaK marine product line. MaK is a brand of powerful diesel engines providing 1,390 HP to 21,760 HP marine power solutions for ocean-going commercial, cruise line and pleasure craft vessels.
MaK, headquartered in Hamburg, Germany and a leading supplier of medium speed propulsion and marine generators, is an important member of the Caterpillar engine family. In the marine marketplace, Cat and MaK, are branded as one organization, Caterpillar Marine Power Systems. The combined level of experience between Cat and MaK, including systems development, engineering, and product support, provides our customers with a wide range of marine power solutions.
The MaK diesel engine product line for marine applications includes main propulsion and onboard electric power generation The larger end of the MaK engine line can actually dwarf the upper end of the Cat engine line. These engines can be found in ocean-crossing applications such as freighters, container vessels, long range line haul tugs, cruise ships and oil tankers. All MaK diesel engines feature high reliability, low operational costs, simple installation and maintenance and compliance with the International Maritime Organization’s environmental regulations.
N C Power Systems is excited to represent this addition to the Cat Marine Power Systems family and has wasted no time engaging in the business. Currently, N C Power Systems is actively providing solutions to a handful of west coast MaK customers including Holland America Line (a major cruise ship line), Matson Navigation (a leading steamship line), the Alaska Marine Highways (large Alaska-based passenger and vehicle ferries), and the American Seafoods Company (large factory trawlers). |
